Propertymark has launched a new training and development initiative.
Propertymark Inspire is aimed at seniors in the industry who have to deal with the challenges of reduced supply and complex legislation as well as run their own businesses.
Participants will get a range of benefits including the ability to share ideas with similar but non-competing agents.
They will also get access to industry experts, support in small, bespoke networks, one-to-one mentoring and advice, and group conference calls on focused issues.
NAEA Propertymark chief executive Mark Hayward said: “The over-riding theme is driving income, amplifying positive results and improving professional standards.
“We are utilising Propertymark’s unique position with industry stakeholders to give members insight as to future directions and look at the emerging proptech arena to gauge an understanding of what will work and, more importantly, what will not.
“Everyone in the group has different areas of strength, fantastic examples of incremental and dramatic successes along with practical challenges, and the shared experience and growth of the group yields dramatic short, medium and longer term benefits for everyone involved.
“The aim is to learn, share, expand and improve.”
He added: “The costs are just being finalised but will aim to be reasonable and affordable: they will be announced shortly.”
EYE understands the cost is likely to be £195 per month.

There are at least 3 similar schemes/groups and it makes sense to have an ‘Industry Lead’ body championing excellence and innovation- quite possibly with these groups, who are by their very nature the key leaders and thinkers in our profession. As we move forward into a time of great change with Regulation and Compliance and new Protocols in the way we sell property, I applaud it.

Propertymark are in danger of teaching from a place that they know nothing about just to make a quick buck. Obviously driven by the Government desire to ‘upskill’ letting agents.

I think you’ll find the people they are looking to on this have considerable current experience.

I wish ARLA/NAEA/Propertymark would spend more time defending our industry and landlords and less time on these schemes. It’s always Generation Rent and Shelter on the TV/Radio fighting for tenants and the NLA fighting for Landlords. Do propertymark have any influence at all in Westminster – it would appear not.
