A soldier turned agency regional manager helped mark the 100 years since the end of the First World War by taking part in the Remembrance Day Marathon last Sunday.

We congratulate Clint Nykamp, a former member of the Second Royal Regiment Fusiliers and now a partner at Fine & Country West Midland.

He joined with GPEA regional manager Emma Preston to take part in the event, which was the eighth race of the 12 Marathons Challenge the pair are taking part in to raise money for the Fine & Country Foundation to help tackle homelessness.

The pair are running a marathon each month, but unlike the other events, at 11am on Sunday participants joined with the rest of the country and stopped and fell silent to reflect on the war and fallen heroes.

Nykamp paid tribute to his fallen comrades and to veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress, many of whom are homeless.

Matthew Pryke, lawyer for The Fine & Country Foundation, said: “It was such a great pleasure to watch Clint and Emma on Sunday. It is a monumental personal challenge they have both undertaken for a great cause.

“I thank them both and hope the whole Fine & Country network gets behind them for the last four marathons to help them maximise the donations for the Fine & Country Foundation.”
