Heartfelt story of the week (you may need a hankie):
When an elderly driver’s car conked out in the middle of a busy road, he was rescued by two good Samaritan estate agents.
Two members of staff at Connells saw his plight and went out to help, holding up the traffic and pushing the car into a side street.
They then took driver, in his nineties, into their office and gave him a nice cup of tea and somewhere to sit while he waited for the AA.
So far, so good.
Then the driver wrote to the local paper in Oxford, to say thankyou to the Connells agents, ending: “You will understand how perilous my situation would have been without their most generous and intelligent action. So I want to make my gratitude known to others.”
The letter attracted some comments, including this one: “Connells have raised the reputation of estate agents and deserve this great publicity.”
Best PR ever?
