OnTheMarket recruits 50-branch regional chain Andrews

OnTheMarket has announced that south of England chain Andrews has signed a long-term agreement to advertise its UK residential sales and lettings properties on the portal.

Under the long-term agreement, Andrews has also agreed actively to promote the OTM brand with digital and branch-based marketing activity.

The agent operates a network of over 50 branches across the South of England, including Bath, Bristol and London.

OTM CEO Ian Springett said: “As an independent firm with a strong reputation for its quality of customer service and ethical standards, Andrews has achieved an enviable market share in the south of the UK and the firm will undoubtedly strengthen our position in the area with its property listings and positive support for our proposition.”

OTM said earlier this week that it had recruited over 11,000 agency offices, increased traffic and increased leads to its members.

However, its share price barely lifted yesterday, ending fractionally down at 146p.

Slowly but surely the bigger multi branch agencies are also now making the move. That’s the third big firm in the past few weeks. The momentum is now clearly with Onthemarket.

Rummage4 should be considered as a complimentary and supportive service to OTM and it’s  agents, not a competitor.

Both systems do similar but different things; we do have an property aggregator (portal) but it will be down to individual agents to decide how  enquiries are routed from the internet to their desktop or hand. For  OTM agents it make perfect strategic sense that enquiries are routed through agent owned systems rather than via the dominant duopoly.

My primary objective is to drive a transparency into the digital  side of agency that allows business owners to see what of their marketing  spend is effective and what isn’t.

When is it happening? Right now,  we are building individual  agent directories right now. We  have built data feeds and processes and are starting to build up  content and staff to cope with the commitments we have to deliver.

Several industry influencers have now seen the system  and there’s a strong and healthy buzz about what we’ve built.  The very supportive comment from Ed Mead on Monday should be viewed as a massive endorsement of the synergy between the two systems and their individual benefits to agents.

We don’t need 3 Portals, simple as that. OTM will do exactly the same as Rightmove, when the time is right.

    Tick tock tick tock.

Onmarket has to be the best business I have ever seen at recruiting agents … but only get 3 visitors a day…

Very strange how they can be so good at getting the raw material but then not knowing what to do with it.

Most business has complete opposite problem  .

Surely the power will be with the likes of FB, Twitter and maybe Amazon, at some stage
