One of the UK’s biggest farming operations, Strutt & Parker (Farms), has been put up for sale.
It was established 100 years ago by farming neighbours Edward Strutt and Charles Parker, and covers over 30,000 acres in east Anglia.
As well as farming, it has cottages and offices, and the whole lot is said to be worth over £200m.
It is of course a no-brainer as to which agent Strutt & Parker (Farms) would instruct.
Savills.
Baaaa d move – Surely EweMove would have been far more appropriate!

I read the year end statements for 2017. Fascinating! A farm venture that size, with a good diversity producing modest profits goes to show how tough agriculture is and is only helped by sales of certain properties and the rent roll from commercial and residential. Biogas and solar are fast growing but sterling weakness has impacted commodity prices and the cost of new machinery according to the board. It’s frightening that a farming venture that big is selling out! Big was best and diversification has been encouraged…wow…watch out smaller farms!
