Rightmove has teamed up with a Japanese property portal to give UK buyers access to listings in Japan.

It is part of an expansion of overseas property listings by Rightmove and gives the Japanese business, Sekai Property, access to a market of international buyers.

An announcement from Tokyo-based Beyond Borders, which owns Sekai Property, said Rightmove will create a new category of Japanese real estate on its website.

A statement from Beyond Borders said: “The overseas real estate portal site based in Tokyo, Sekai Property, is aiming to expand overseas sales of Japanese real estate to foreign buyers in the platform business.

“Meanwhile, Rightmove, the largest real estate platform in the UK based in London, aims to increase the number of overseas properties featured on their website in order to introduce overseas real estate to UK users.”

Rightmove’s website showed 7,924 listings for Japanese property on Friday being marketed by Beyond Borders.
