Peter Grant, who founded estate agency IT firm VTUK, is relinquishing his role as managing director to become chairman.
The move follows the death of his wife Claire last year following a long, well-publicised fight against cancer.
Grant said the position of chairman will more accurately reflect his role in the business, and he pledged to remain actively engaged with VTUK, which he founded back in 1989.
The new managing director is Adam Rackham, who brings 20 years’ experience to the role and has been promoted from within.
Another new appointment at the firm is Simon Knightly, former head of development at Amazon UK, who will oversee a number of new developments at the business, which has over 2,500 users and whose software is used to manage around 400,000 properties.
Rackham said: “Peter’s vision of the industry and how property transactions will develop over the next two to five years remains invaluable.
“This change will enable him to provide technology solutions to real-world problems being faced by the agencies that he can now more actively engage with.”
Sad news. Thoughts with you Peter.
Congratulations to Adam. Well deserved (in unfortunate circumstance).

Peter has always been passionate about his business and I am sure he will continue to be an inspiring leader in his role as Chairman. Adam is a safe and steady pair of hands at the helm and I wish them both every success after such a difficult time.
