Romans has acquired a business in Bath, the west country city famous for its Roman baths.
It has bought Bath Property Lettings, which has been owned and run by Bath Building Society for over 25 years.
The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, adds not only a new outlet for the expanding group, but a new territory. The new branch will be the furthest west the group has ventured.
Dick Jenkins, chief executive of Bath Building Society, said: “As the letting market develops it was becoming clear that our letting customers, both landlords and tenants, would be best served by the support of a specialist company with much greater market expertise than we could offer.
“It also allows the building society the opportunity to focus on what we do best – mortgages and savings. We see this as a very positive move for both the Society and our clients.”
Matthew Light, group acquisitions director at the Leaders Romans Group, said: “We are delighted to have acquired Bath Property Letting and to have expanded into a new area – particularly one which has been high on our wish-list for a long time.
“The acquisition is further proof of our confidence in the industry across the UK and our determination to grow both in existing branch locations and brand new areas.”
Romans’ acquisition of Bath Property Letting comes just days after the acquisitions by sister company Leaders of City Lettings in Norwich, and just three weeks after the Leaders Romans Group completed two acquisitions in just 24 hours, acquiring Penyards Property Management in Winchester and Prescott Hall in Chester.
