A Labour peer, Baroness Diana Warwick, has been appointed chair of The Property Ombudsman’s council.
She succeeds Lord Richard Best who stepped down after his eight-year term came to an end.
As council chair, she will lead the scheme’s independent council to ensure the ombudsman can act independently and impartially when reviewing property disputes.
Ombudsman Katrine Sporle said: “I look forward to working closely with Diana who has spent many years helping the Government make and shape laws, and debate public policy matters.
“She will be a great asset to TPO which aims to raise standards in the industry and protect consumers from unfair practices.”
Baroness Warwick of Undercliffe is currently chair of the National Housing Federation. She spent 14 years as chief executive of Universities UK, the body representing the executive heads of 130 universities.
…… TPO which aims to raise standards in the industry and protect consumers from unfair practices.”
How about allowing the industry to inform you of low standards and unfair practices, then you really will be helping to raise standards. At the moment you chase the horse that has bolted, that is if you ever get to know about it.
