High street independent becomes first to sign up to new online service

A high street agency in Liverpool has become the first to sign up to a new service that will allow it to offer customers a separately branded online estate agency.

Bluerow Homes will now offer the Love2move brand, designed to offer sellers a fixed price service at £895.

Love2move, designed by Lancashire estate agents Moving Works, is also about to be launched by four other agents in the north-west.

The concept sits alongside the agent’s existing offering, and has a Tinder-style ‘swipe and select’ function. Potential buyers can view properties, swipe the ones they like and then communicate directly with the seller through an online chat function.

Love2move sales director Mark Worrall said: “Since our launch on Valentine’s Day we’ve been inundated with enquiries from agents across the UK and are currently in advanced discussions with several businesses in addition to those who have already signed up.

“It vindicates our belief that love2move is a viable concept that enables traditional agents to compete with online estate agents using an internet platform that can be accessed from anywhere in the world without compromising their existing areas of business.”

All agents who adopt love2move must be members of NAEA Propertymark.

Crazy. It wont be long till a big player offers the same for £499 then £299 subsidised by other services.

Agents joining the race to the bottom arent being clever but ultimately killing their future business.

Sell on service. Not price wars.

100% Trevor. Soon it will be a free service ; ) I have seen quotes of £200 for the viewings. Soon high street agents will be outsourcing to online agents (+ the viewing “add-on”) to do all the work and make a spread in the middle!
As an example of this – we have been raising our fees over the past 18 months and now work longer hours and 7 days a week and clients are happy to pay the fees becuase they know that we are working tirelessly trying to make things happen. We have added video to the offering as an improvement to service since this allows us to show properties for sale to international buyers and let properties to good international tenants relocating for business
For every 2 x 4% landlords we lose we gain one at 8%, or each sub 1% vendor lost to online agents here is a 2% around the corner.
Sell on service! And go further! Price is irrelevant to some extent.

Whilst I agree that all agents will need to start offering online services soon, the fact that love2move forces you to use their brand, rather than letting us use our own established local brands seems absurd. Especially when other services (e.g. ‘Hystreet’) claim to allow you to offer the same online service with your own brand.

And don’t get me started on “fixed price service at £895” – I’d rather make my own business decisions than have my costs dictated to me by a software provider, thanks…..

Trouble is i do this to pay my mortgage…not be a charity…Agents who look at purplebricks model and are jealous should leave the industry….its a souless, misleading , hedgefund supported lie…which i hope one day the media and watchdog’s etc put a stop to…

Not to say respect for trying…arent you a cartel technically…fixing the fee?? lol..
