Agency where directors admitted £304,000 fraud reviewed by ombudsman

The agency where two directors and a third man escaped jail after a fraud involving £304,000 of tenancy deposits is to have its membership of The Property Ombudsman Scheme reviewed.

Paul Masella and Grant Leber, of Masella Coupe in Godalming, Surrey, both pleaded guilty.

They were both given suspended sentences and ordered to do 180 hours of unpaid community work.

The firm is a member of TPO for both sales and lettings.

Yesterday afternoon, a spokesperson told Eye: “This matter has been referred to our disciplinary and standards committee for independent review.”

Referred? Surely no real need, they pleaded guilty to fraud after all!
