Regional estate agency boss retires 25 years after founding business

Long-standing estate agency boss Tony Putterill is stepping down from the highly successful business he founded 25 years ago – and after the best part of half a century in the industry.

Putterills, which has ten branches across Hertfordshire, will now be led Mark Shearing – who has been at the business a mere 24 years.

The respected Putterill himself has been in estate agency for 45 years.

He told the local paper that now was the right time for him to hang up his clipboard and tape measure.

His successor Shearing said: “It will be very sad to see Tony leave the Putterills group, which really is one big family, very rare in a business environment these days and a testament to how highly regarded Tony is.

“The property market is evolving all the time and at a much faster pace.

“I look forward to ensuring that Putterills remains at the absolute forefront of innovation and being able to make sure that our clients continue to receive the best possible advice and service when dealing with what is often their most valuable assets.

“We wish Tony a long, happy and healthy retirement.”

We echo that and wish him well.
