UK property start-up Bricklane – which is backed by Zoopla – has been named in a list of the best-funded proptech firms in the world.
Bricklane is a crowdfunding platform that allows investors to invest tax-free in a fund of homes using online property ISAs.
Also in the list is LendInvest, a UK peer-to-peer property lending platform that connects lenders with borrowers.
Matterport, an American firm that is building its presence in the UK after acquiring London company Virtual Walkthrough is also in the list, drawn up by Jack Fitzgerald, founder of Disrupt Property.
Matterport supplies next-generation cameras which produce remarkable three-dimensional imagery – marking, says the list, “the death of static 2D property photos online”.
The list describes Opendoor as the “most exciting one of the lot”. The American firm lists properties, while also offering to buy them, allowing people to move when they like and also building up a good sales inventory.
In the UK, a similar offering called Nested launched in September. It promises to sell a vendor’s home in 90 days or lend the seller the full amount, interest free.
