A regional director at Countrywide is to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of children’s charity Naomi House.

Mark Holmes is taking on the challenge with support from Agents Giving and Rightmove.

Naomi House and Jackspace hospices provide expert care to more than 280 life-limited and life-threatened children, young people, and their extended families from Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Berkshire, West Sussex, Surrey and the Isle of Wight.

Naomi House costs approximately £11,000 per day to run, money which goes towards the individual care and respite care, and support for the whole family through good days, difficult days and sadly last days.

Having become a father in 2014, Holmes was inspired by his new experience as a parent and has so far raised an impressive £6,500 through other donations and a dress-down day at work.

He also organised a football match in May for Reading ex-professional players and a local team, which raised £1,000.

He said: “Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro will be the most physically challenging thing I have ever done. As someone who’s used to my home comforts, this challenge is going to take me completely outside of my comfort zone.”
