UK top conveyancer My Home Move leads the field – with just over 2% of market share

Latest figures from the Land Registry have confirmed the cottage nature industry of conveyancing, with the largest market share going to My Home Move – at just over 2%.

The firm with the largest slice of the market completed nearly 50,000 cases last year, and increased transactional volumes by 17%.

It retained its market leading position, representing over double the number of its nearest competitor, Countrywide Property Lawyers.

Despite the battle for business, My Home Move’s market share remained at 2.2% – exactly the same as in 2014, according to the Land Registry.

My Home Move CEO Doug Crawford said: “2015 was a year of two halves for the industry.

“As people waited for news of the General Election, the housing market began to slow dramatically.

“It wasn’t until late spring that we saw the number of instructions begin to increase and completion figures rise. During the last six months of the year, we completed nearly as many cases as we did in the whole of 2012 – with October enabling us to set an industry record, as we completed over 5,000 mover transactions in one month alone.

“The next 12 months are expected to be equally challenging for the market, as the lack of housing stock, imminent Stamp Duty changes for additional home-buyers and the implementation of the Mortgage Credit Directive, are all likely to have an effect.”

My Home Move has close relationships with a number of UK estate agents, including a deal with Purplebricks.

I completed on a property two weeks ago. Stephen Hayter and the team shone throughout and I can highly recommend their services. The online facility is a superb communication tool.

Well done Stephen and the team!
