There are plans to commemorate a local estate agent who has died suddenly at the age of 57, with the installation of a defibrillator.
Malcolm James Bean, whose family estate agency business Malcolm James is in Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire, had also been a retained fire fighter for over 30 years.
Mr Bean is said to have died at his home from a heart attack, leaving a partner and daughter.
The plan is to install the defibrillator outside the community fire station, where there is a touching display of flowers on a memorial to the popular agent.
In a fund-raising plea on Facebook, Deborah Slater of Defribillators for All said: “Malcolm was someone liked and admired by everyone who knew him. How sad to lose such a man.”
Malcolm James, which is a member of the Guild of Professional Estate Agents, closed its offices temporarily as a mark of respect.
The business was set up by Bean some 20 years ago with his sister Lorraine, after he started his estate agency career at Cornerstone.
Lorraine told the local paper: “We are all overwhelmed at the outpouring of feelings and kind words offered whilst we keep the business running in Malcolm’s honour.”
The funeral will be on February 8, with a procession starting at the fire station.
