Zoopla’s ‘house whispering’ TV advert named named Turkey of the Week by trade title

Campaign Jan 2016 3

Zoopla’s TV advert featuring a ‘house whisperer’ has been named by advertising trade publication Campaign as its “Turkey of the Week”.

The magazine says that the female character is “annoying”.

Critic Gurjit Degun says: “Who would think a hysterical woman throwing herself against a wall or on the floor to listen to a property could be so annoying?

“I had hoped the estate agent or her partner would save the ad. They didn’t.”

Meanwhile, Rightmove has unveiled its own new advertising campaign, promoting its rental arm, to run on C4 and online.

The advert shows tenants find their happy when they find the right property (let’s just hope they don’t lose their happy when it comes to handing over the deposit).

The new rental ad, Hula, airs for the first time this evening.

It is part of a series of happy adverts.

There was the one on Boxing Day when everything about a new home falls into place and the planets align.

If you missed the Cuckoo one which aired last week, you can see it here:

A fourth ad, shortly to air, will make home-hunters happily aware that there are more properties on Rightmove than anywhere else.

Yep, in a rare moment of not using Sky + to avoid all TV ads I caught this one with the mad bint lobbing herself around a house and it’s all a fine example of advertising bellendery,

We also have those two grinning gimps as the face of PB gracing our screens which is nice……well for those that don’t skip the ads like Mrs Jonnie and me do.

Funny. She is incredibly annoying. I guess the real question is ‘does it work’?

I guess the real question is /

WHOAAAA…. you missed a trick there, NarryN – a MAHOOSIVE trick!

What you SHOULD have screamed from the rooftops was that you’ve had a million percent increase in your office activity as a result of the advert – and you’re now having to take on a high proportion of certain Call-Centre Estate Agents unsettled staff to cope with the deluge of resultant business stolen from OTM Agents.

But you didn’t.  Not like you at all – you feeling okay?

Good on you Zoopla. Annoying adverts are at least twice as memorable as boring function adverts.

      Good morning, Mr Jury

A quick question, if I may.

If “annoying” is so memorable, how come your gaffer continually forgets to answer any questions I throw at him such as:

..please confirm the actual proportion of properties that are listed with your own company that fail to sell, and the proportion of properties listed which require their price to be adjusted from the original listing figure?

I dare say he will attempt to claim he has no knowledge of said question (or the one posed previous to it for that matter, seeing as his buddies at HOA keep deleting them from his ‘article’ page so their readership never get to see them…not to mention the one I posted on your most recent numptyfunding event which suffered the same fate) but here it is where he can’t hide from it…

…so the response is now enthusiastically awaited.

      I, for one, can’t wait.

        OKAY…

…as it has taken six hours so far without so much as a peep from ‘Da eMoov Massiv’ let’s make the question slightly easier in the hope that the Janet & John version doesn’t fry their motherboards, shall we?

I refer, therefore, to the original question I put to The Quirkster via the HOA, on January 13** – which was the first post that didn’t get through the ‘moderation’ (read ‘protection’) process:

WHAT PERCENTAGE OF YOUR COMPANY’S LISTINGS REQUIRE ONE OR MORE ‘PRICE REDUCTION’ PRIOR TO AGREEING A SALE?

There you go – ONE simple question this time – ONE simple answer required.

No need to tax the grey cells on the thorny subject of non-successful listings.

We can save that one for another time and place.

IF Mr Quirk needs some help with the mathematics – just ask.

I’m a whizz with statistics; percentages – AND dissecting billshuttery.

        :o)

** a question that was then repeated here on EYE on the same day – http://www.propertyindustryeye.com/strong-programme-announced-for-naea-london-event/ – unfortunately apparently Mr Quirk doesn’t “read the PIE comments”.

        Yeah, right!

More than annoying. Cringe might be a better word

    So. Is the woman:

    a. a recently escaped nutter that has managed to get inside homes via Zoopla?
    b. uncomfortably sexually depraved in public places
    c. an actress with a poor script day. ……….
