Agent escapes with life after vehicle crashes into window

An agent had a lucky escape when an out-of-control bus smashed into the plate glass front of the office.

Lettings manager Sandeep Rattan at Bobby Dhanjal estate agents in Leicester city centre was at his desk less than three feet away.

The bus, whose brakes are thought to have failed, smashed the glass and became embedded in the reinforced pane, but luckily did not go through the window.

Rattan told the local newspaper: “I wasn’t even a metre away from the window when it happened.

“I heard a bang and suddenly there was a bus coming towards me.

“It hit the window and I thought it was going to come all the way through and hit me.

“It’s all a bit of a blur and I’m still shaking.

“If it had been going a couple of miles per hour faster, it would have come all the way through.”

Police are investigating the incident which comes not long after a car smashed through the window of an agency in Kent.

On that occasion, the agent who had been sitting at the window escaped with his life due to a lucky loo break.
