Historic estate agency attracts new shareholders ahead of expansion push

Nock Deighton has expanded its ownership structure after five senior members of staff became shareholders in the business.

Managing director Dawn Clarke, finance director Jane Rawlings and sales directors Andrew Ainge, Hannah Brown and Chris Kemp have joined chairman Michael Nettleton as shareholders in the company.

The estate agency, which has operated for almost 190 years and remains independently owned, said the move forms part of its longer-term growth plans and will support continued investment in areas including marketing, technology, staff training and customer service.

Several of the new shareholders have spent more than two decades with Nock Deighton, including managing director Dawn Clarke, finance director Jane Rawlings and sales director Hannah Brown.

The company said the expanded ownership structure reflects the long-term involvement of its senior leadership team and their role in the agency’s development across Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Nock Deighton operates from offices in Bridgnorth, Kidderminster, Telford, Ludlow and Newport, while also covering surrounding towns and rural areas across the wider region.

Chairman Michael Nettleton said: “This is a hugely positive step for the future of Nock Deighton. Dawn, Jane, Andrew, Hannah, and Chris have all played a significant role in the company’s success and growth over many years. Becoming shareholders recognises their dedication, leadership and belief in the future of the business.

“Importantly, it ensures that Nock Deighton continues to be led by people who genuinely care about the communities we serve, our clients and our staff.”

Nock Deighton’s managing director, Dawn Clarke, added: “Nock Deighton has always been about people, our clients, our team and the communities we work within. Becoming shareholders is a reflection of our shared commitment to continue investing in the business and making it the very best it can be for the future.

“We are incredibly proud of what the company has achieved and excited about the opportunities ahead.”
