John Prest, a lettings agency based in North Yorkshire, has added a property sales service. The move follows the company’s acquisition by My Property Box just over a year ago, as the group seeks to expand its operations.
The business confirmed yesterday that it is transitioning from a letting-focused model to a full-service estate agency. The John Prest name will be retained, and its Northallerton High Street office will use the systems and support of the wider group.
Nicola Nicholson, sales manager and valuer, said: “Over the past year, we’ve seen a clear increase in demand from home owners who want a local, trusted agent to handle their sales. This allows us to support clients throughout the full property lifecycle.
“Being part of My Property Box has made this possible. The investment, infrastructure and shared resources across the group mean we can deliver a professional, well-resourced sales service while maintaining the personal, relationship-led approach that John Prest is known for.”
Founded in Northallerton in 1926, John Prest has operated from the town centre since 1932. The business became part of My Property Box’s portfolio following the retirement of its family directors.
My Property Box has offices in Darlington and Newcastle and operates across the North East and North Yorkshire. The company has received investment from BGF to support its growth strategy, including service expansion and regional development.
Nicholson added: “What’s important is that clients still have access to a familiar local office and a team that understands the Northallerton market. The difference now is that we have the scale and backing to offer more, bringing sales into the business in a way that’s sustainable, well supported and focused on delivering the right outcomes for clients.”
