Experienced estate agent Neil Mellon has launched his own firm, Mellon Properties, in his hometown of Omagh, following ten years working in the Belfast property market.
The new estate agency is based on George’s Street, BT78, in the same building that once housed his grandfather’s barbershop in the 1950s and 60s. The property was later inherited by Mellon’s father nearly 20 years ago.
When the family began discussing the future of the premises earlier this year, 31-year-old Mellon decided it was the right time to return home and establish his own business in the familiar setting.
“I’ve always wanted to run a business in Omagh, and opening in my family’s old building felt like the perfect way to reconnect with the town and bring new life to the high street,” he said. “It felt like the right time to come home and bring my experience back to help others who are seeking their new home here too.”
Mellon Properties will offer residential sales and lettings services across the Omagh area.
Mellon continued: “With my experience of both residential and commercial property, I want to support buyers and sellers to make this process as accessible and hassle-free as possible and I think young people are looking for a fresh approach. “
“I believe that the thing that can make or break an estate agency experience is communication. Too often, buyers and sellers are left waiting weeks for updates. As a home-owner myself, I know how nerve-wracking, frustrating, and stressful this can be.”
