Associate director and auctioneer for Midlands agency Sheldon Bosley Knight, Matt Burrows, has been making an unmissable alteration to his appearance as he raises funds for a cherished charity.

He has shaved off his beard but is now getting sponsorship and donations growing a moustache in honour of a special cause.

A volunteer with the Army Cadet Force, Burrows is taking part in Moustache for Mac, a fundraising effort in memory of SSI Alex ‘Mac’ McCullough, a much-loved colleague and friend from the Army Cadets, who sadly passed away last year, aged only 23.

A cadet from the age of 12, Mac returned to the organisation as an adult instructor before he was lost to cancer.

So far, £1,670 has been raised for the Teenage Cancer Trust, the charity which supported Mac until his untimely death.

Burrows said: “This initiative is our way of remembering him and raising money for a cause he cared deeply about. As part of this noble and hairy, campaign, I’ll be growing a moustache until the end of our cadet’s Annual Camp.

“I’ll be among teenagers who are brutally honest at the best of times so it will be an interesting time! Feel free to mock me openly – as long as it gets people talking about the cause, I’ll take it! Thanks in advance for any support you can give – financial or follicular!”
