A well-established auction house is set to hold its first on-site sale since coronavirus lockdown restrictions were introduced in March 2020.
Dawsons will later today announce the venue of its first ‘in the room’ auction of 2025 in Swansea, the first since February 2020.
The face of auction property sales has been changed since the Covid epidemic first hit five years ago, with the room-only model of property auctions consigned to history. But the in-person method of sale still has its place in the property market.
Over the past few years, virtual auctions have allowed us to continue offering a seamless service to our clients, said a spokesperson for Dawsons. “However, there’s no substitute for the buzz of a live auction—where the atmosphere, real-time competition, and personal interactions create an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.”
“By combining our modern technology with the traditional charm of in-room events, we’re aiming to provide the best of both worlds,” the spokesperson added.
The Dawsons auction offering is operated by a dedicated team, led by David Parton, wo has over 20 years’ experience in estate agency.
Parton said: “When I started at Dawsons in January 2005 my father Mike was the auctioneer. It was in the November of that year that I took charge of my first auction. I can still remember how nervous I was as there is no preparation you can do for standing there, everyone focused on you, taking bids and bringing the gavel down to sell a property.
“Auctioneering isn’t just about me however standing there taking the bids. We are very fortunate that we have a great Auction Team at Dawsons, who I know can be relied upon to meet the vendor needs and bring a level of professionalism that makes this department very special.
“David Parton now heads up the department as Auction Manager, bringing over 20 years of property experience to the role. His knowledge and attitude are second to none and he also seems to know every person associated with property in Swansea which is a very useful string to his bow.”
Parton added: “Dawsons Auction House has been an integral part of the auction scene since 1992, and I am proud to be managing such an esteemed institution. With a strong team behind me, exciting plans on the horizon, and a heritage built on trust and professionalism, I am confident that we are poised for even greater success in the future.
“As we prepare for 2025 and beyond, I look forward to working with my colleagues, clients, and everyone involved in the auctions to continue delivering outstanding results and an exceptional experience for all.”
Great news! There is pent up demand from buyers to be back in the room where there is complete transparency and where the buzz and the personal skill of a real auctioneer enables the best price to be obtained.
