Fine & Country’s Carols by Candlelight Concert raises over £20,000 for charity

Fine & Country’s ‘Carols by Candlelight’ event at King’s College in Cambridge has raised more than £20,000.

The evening of music took place on Sunday, with the funds raised to be donated to homeless charities across the Cambridgeshire region.

The event’s proceeds will be distributed among four deserving charities: Emmaus Cambridge, Jimmy’s Cambridge, Wintercomfort, and Cambridge Cyrenians. These organisations play a crucial role in providing vital services to homeless individuals, making a meaningful impact on their lives.

The historic and awe-inspiring King’s College Cambridge has served as the ideal backdrop for the Carols by Candlelight concert for the several years and greatly adds to the atmosphere of the event. The carols were led by the King’s Voices, the mixed choir of King’s College, whose renditions of the beloved carols filled the chapel with holiday warmth, inviting all in attendance to celebrate in the spirit of community and compassion.

Jon Cooke, trustee of the Fine & Country Foundation, highlighted the significant impact of the annual Carols by Candlelight concert, stating: “Through the support of the Fine & Country network and the public, The Foundation has been able to have a positive impact on many people’s lives around the globe. The annual carol concert has been a massive contributor towards the money The Foundation has raised over the years and has helped support many charities and non-profit organisations in the work they are doing in their communities.”

This year’s concert is especially meaningful, as the Foundation celebrates an incredible milestone of both raising and donating over £1 million since its inception in 2014, supporting charities dedicated to combating homelessness and poverty. The Foundation’s annual Carols by Candlelight has been a cornerstone of this success.
