Spicerhaart receives prestigious Ministry of Defence employer award

Spicerhaart has announced that it has been honoured with the prestigious Gold Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Award by the UK Ministry of Defence.

This accolade recognises the estate agency’s commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community, including reservists, veterans, and their families.

The ERS Gold Award is the highest recognition given by the Ministry of Defence to employers who demonstrate exceptional support for the Armed Forces.

Amongst the criteria for Gold award holders to meet are:

+ Proactively demonstrating their forces-friendly credentials as part of recruitment

+ Ensure the workforce is aware of positive policies towards defence people issues

+ Demonstrate support to the Cadet movement and promote associated volunteering opportunities

Emma Barber, whose husband was a soldier for 22 years, is Spicerhaart’s head of training and development and Armed Forces Champion. She said: “We are extremely proud and supportive of the dedication and commitment given by forces personnel to our country.

“This is such an important initiative for us as people retiring from the Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and Royal Marines or those that are reservists have so many transferable talents. They are disciplined, motivated and have excellent communication skills.

“To now be honoured with the Gold Award for our commitment to our Armed Forces is one of the proudest moments of both my professional and personal life. I look forward to the next chapter of our journey.”

Antony Lark, Spicerhaart’s Joint CEO, added: “We are delighted and honoured to be presented with the Gold Award as it further cements our commitment to our Armed Forces.”

Spicerhaart has previously been awarded the MoD’s Silver and Bronze Awards and have signed the Armed Forces Covenant – a promise that those in the Armed Forces and their families will be treated fairly.
