Established estate agency eyes growth with rebrand and new appointment

Burns & Webber, a renowned name in the Surrey property market, announced last week that it is rebranding to adopt their parent company’s name, Curchods, and now the firm has confirmed the appointment of Jordan Sturgess to further strengthen its prime proposition.

Having previously spent a decade specialising in the prime and super prime market across Surrey and Berkshire, Sturgess will join Curchods as prime partner. Sturgess’ role will oversee the expansion of the company’s Prime proposition into South West Surrey.

The four Burns & Webber offices in Farnham, Cranleigh, Godalming and Guildford have joined the existing and long-established Curchods network that spans Surrey and South West London, with 25 offices along the A3 corridor.

Curchods became a sole residential sales business in May 1990 which together, John Slatter and Andrew Dewar became Joint Senior Partners. Some years later, after acquiring Burns & Webber back in 2007.

The expansion into South West Surrey, where Curchods believe they can echo their success in Elmbridge, is to capitalise on demand from UK and international buyers looking for country homes in rural settings.

Commenting on the recent appointment, Curchods director Dan Dewar said; “Jordan’s experience and expertise in the super prime market can only further enhance our prime proposition, expertise and the dedicated service we provide Prime clients.”

“We are now seeing more interest from high-net-worth clients looking for impressive country homes, offering a relaxed lifestyle in more rural settings. For many, these properties lie outside of the capital and beyond the m25 boundary, and we are seeing the likes of market towns such as Farnham becoming more popular.”

The appointment of Sturgess happens at an exciting time for Curchods, following the recent rebrand of their Burns & Webber offices. Having acquired Burns & Webber in 2007, Curchods have taken the decision to rebrand these offices in 2024 as it expands not only its Prime proposition but its brand further south.

Over the coming weeks Curchods will be unveiling a new identity, which will include a fresh new look for the offices and for sale boards.
