New Pugh director targets estate agent partner relationships

Andy Thompson

Pugh & Co has announced a significant strategic investment in its commercial property and residential estate agent services.

Andy Thompson, the latest director to be appointed by the property auction firm, that has 10 offices around the UK and is part of the Eddisons Group, will head up an expansion of the auction house’s agent-partnership offering.

With a track record of working with many estate agents and commercial agents in his previous roles, Thompson said: “Having successfully established a strong partner agent network, Pugh is using its track record and client-centric approach to take this service to the next level. I am excited to be driving the initiative which will support sales of residential and commercial properties across the North and beyond.

“Rather than focussing on complicated systems and technology, we want our people to essentially be an extension of our partner-agent’s team, providing the reliable and personable support they expect from qualified and experienced auction professionals.

“We are already gaining momentum with a number of new agents having signed up in recent months, and we plan to continue building on our track record of working with long-established and highly regarded agents with whom we have enjoyed strong relationships over many years.”

Sam Johnson of Humphrys Estate and Letting Agent, which recently joined Pugh’s partner agent network, comments: “Having worked with Andy Thompson previously, we are already familiar with the benefits of this hands-on approach and we look forward to growing our auction business across all of our regions with Pugh.”

Another recent auction partner Melissa Berry of Melissa Berry Estates said: “We are very pleased to sign up with Pugh to launch our new auction department. Andy and the team were recommended to us by another local estate agent who use them, and I’m pleased to say we already have our first auction property listed with lots of early interest.”

Pugh is continuing to pursue its aim of expanding its market share in the North and more widely across the UK having joined forces with South Yorkshire property auctioneer Mark Jenkinson this summer, combining the two firms’ monthly auction listings and creating one of the north’s largest property auctions. Both Pugh and Mark Jenkinson are part of property group Eddisons.
