The government’s regulatory body, The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual), has officially approved Rightmove’s new agent qualification.
All agents signed up to Rightmove can study towards the new qualification, the Level 3 Certificate for Estate and Letting Agents (CELA), as part of their Rightmove membership.
The qualification will launch on Monday 21st November, and over 2,000 agents have so far signed up in advance to be the first to get started, according to the property portal.
Rightmove says that Ofqual approval means agents can be reassured that the course meets the highest quality standards.
The syllabus will be delivered by a group of renowned industry experts, including Josh Phegan, Dr David Smith and Lesley Horton.
CELA aims to help more agents have easier access to professional training, something that Rightmove says has been requested by agents so that it counts towards an official qualification.
The course has been specifically designed ahead of potential regulations that the government may bring in based on the RoPA Report.
The qualification is designed for both estate and lettings agents, and the free training will be delivered online and on-demand so agents fit the training around their busy schedles.
The content has been produced to suit all learning styles, including video, an accessible digital handbook and a simple user interface.
Following the free training, agents will then be able to sit an independently adjudicated exam through awarding body ABBE for a fee of £170 (plus VAT).

Absolutely delighted to see this approval and to play a part in it.
Having seen the value of education sessions with agents, this initiative is welcomed and congratulations to Rightmove for picking up the baton in this particular area.
