Estate agency aims cheeky dig at Liz Truss with Facebook ad

An estate agency in Penwortham has poked fun at Liz Truss who is under growing pressure to resign as prime minister.

Michael Baily Estate Agents has responded to reports that the prime minister is facing growing calls to resign from her position by posting an advert on Facebook asking, “Will I move home before Liz Truss?”

Tory MPs have started to openly call on Truss to quit Number 10 following a disastrous six weeks in office.

Crispin Blunt, former chair of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee, told Channel 4’s Andrew Neil Show yesterday: “I think the game is up and it’s now a question as to how the succession is managed.”

Conservative MP Andrew Bridgen also called for Truss to step down as PM, telling the Telegraph that his party “cannot carry on like this” and adding: “Our country, its people and our party deserve better”.

Meanwhile, Tory MP Jamie Wallis tweeted: “In recent weeks, I have watched as the government has undermined Britain’s economic credibility and fractured our party irreparably. Enough is enough.

“I have written to the prime minister to ask her to stand down as she no longer holds the confidence of this country.”

The estate agency has used its advert to offer advice for anyone who is seeking to sell their home quick.
