Partners Post Office and Yoti, have been approved as the first certified digital identity service provider (IDSPs) that are able to complete digital identity checks for the Right to Rent scheme.
The Post Office and Yoti have also been approved to be used by businesses, including estate agencies, to check whether newly-appointed have are permitted to work in the UK.
The Post Office and Yoti partnership will bring three services to the market for employment vetting – identity verification (web), reusable digital identity (app) and in-person verification in Post Office branches.
John Abbott, chief commercial officer at Yoti, said: “Being one of the first IDSPs to be certified shows our commitment to the market and is a testament to the quality of our digital identity technology.
“Certification under the Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework* represents the gold standard of Digital Identity service provision with security and privacy prioritised, meaning clients have no concerns about GDPR.”
