Belvoir has launched an apprenticeship scheme.
Aiming to mentor and support individuals as they start their career in the property industry, the Belvoir Apprenticeship Scheme will offer two-year apprenticeships.
These will incorporate work-based tutorials, online learning, learner progress reviews, exams and on-site observation.
Successful candidates will receive a City and Guilds Certificate in Property (Residential Letting) at the end of year one, and the City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Property (Residential Letting), plus the Level 3 NFoPP Technical Award, at the end of year two.
Belvoir’s director of commercial and franchising, Dorian Gonsalves, said: “We are now in our 20th year and have learned that some of our best and most talented staff are home-grown.
“The apprenticeship scheme offers the opportunity for young people who are interested in building a career in property, and offers our franchise owners and managers the opportunity to recruit raw talent and equip these talented young people with the skills to succeed in the industry.”
Meanwhile, Essex group Beresfords is expanding its apprenticeship programme.
Beresfords has been offering the government-backed scheme since 2010. Apprentices train for 12 months with successful candidates receiving the nationally recognised NVQ Level 2 qualification, as well as a Certificate and Diploma in either Residential Property or Residential Property Lettings & Management and a full-time employment contract.
Three of Beresfords’ success stories are Shaun Bull, Domani O’Mahoney and Brandon Crouchman. The former apprentices are now employed full-time at Beresfords’ Chelmsford and Brentwood branches and head office, respectively.
Neither Brandon nor Domani had considered working in property before and both opted against going to university. Shaun had always wanted to work in property and says the apprenticeship scheme gave him the career path he wanted.
Shaun and Domani are both negotiators, while Brandon is part of the marketing team.
