Solicitors’ regulatory body closes down conveyancing firm

A legal firm that specialised in property law, conveyancing and landlord and tenant law has been closed down.

The Solicitors’ Regulation Authority said it had intervened in the business of Anthony Sheil and Partners, of Altrincham, Cheshire.

The notice on the SRA website claims that Sheil had failed to comply with section 31 and 32 of the Solicitors Act 1974, and that there were further grounds for intervention because of suspected dishonesty on the part of Sheil.

Sheil, 74, was admitted as a solicitor in 1966.

The lawyer who has taken over the files of the closed business is John Owen of Gordons LLP, Forward House 8 Duke Street Bradford BD13QX.
