Chestertons has collected over 3,500 coats for the charity Calling London in just one month.
The London estate agency turned each of its high street branches into collection points and worked with clients, staff, local community groups, businesses and schools to generate awareness of the campaign.
The agency’s branches received thousands of donations from many generous people throughout November. One staff member collected 403 coats from her local community, whilst Chestertons’ Barnes Village & North Barnes amassed an impressive 340 coats.
Following the collection, many Chestertons’ staff used their annual ‘volunteer day’ to help sort through the donations. These have now been sent to over 30 charities and shelters across the capital, including Chestertons’ nominated charity St Mungo’s, Crisis at Christmas, Help our Homeless, Dressed for Success, Suited & Booted, Hestia and several food banks.
Giles Milner, marketing director and chairman of Chestertons Charity Champions, said: “Once again, it has been a heart-warming response to our campaign this year. Each year, it is wonderful to see our branches transform into collection points for this great cause, coming up with new initiatives to collect as many coats as possible. We would not be able to do this without the support from the local communities, so thanks to every individual who donated and got involved this year.”
Frances Manthos, founder of Calling London, added: “This, year the need for donations was greater than ever with the impact of the pandemic still rippling across the capital. Without the support of Chestertons and its clients, suppliers, and business partners, I would have struggled to collect the 5,000 coats.”
Well done to all that participated. Best seasonal wishes.
