Mundys pledge £20 from each property sale to Marie Curie

Lincoln-based Mundys Estate Agents has pledged to donate £20 from each of their property sales to end of life charity, Marie Curie.

The new campaign, Your House to Theirs, will last 12 months, with every £20 funding one hour of nursing care for terminally ill people across Lincolnshire.

Mundys generous donations will support Marie Curie’s Rapid Response and Planned Nursing Service throughout the county, who have cared for over 2,400 patients in Lincolnshire during the last year.

Simon Bentley, partner of Mundys, said: “We are all aware of the wonderful work that Marie Curie do nationwide to with all aspects of dying, death and bereavement and a lot of us will sadly have had need of their support.

“Mundys will be donating £20 for each property sold. This is the equivalent of one hour’s care provided by the Marie Curie Team.  Hopefully this contribution will help maintain their much-needed services.”

Marie Curie Nurses provide hands-on palliative care within someone’s home in addition to vital bereavement support for patients and families.

Lauren Alexander, Marie Curie community fundraiser for Lincolnshire, commented: “We are extremely excited to be joining forces with Mundys. This campaign is wonderful way for local vendors and buyers to move forward with their home whilst ensuring another person receives the best possible care in theirs. We need more donations now than ever before and each Mundys’ sale will make a world of difference to our local nursing teams.”

This is definitely not a criticism, it’s an observation. I will not criticise a charity drive as they are all worthwhile, without exception.

£20 per sale is a tiny donation when this agent must be earning at least £2000 per property sale and significantly more from higher value properties. Over 12 months, if this branch sells 20 properties per month and earns £40k or more from sales, to donate a few £100 isn’t very much, especially when it is being used for advertising.

Come on Mundys, why isn’t this at least £100 per sale for such a good cause? It wouldn’t break the bank.
